Advantage Centre - Knowledge to Better Care
The state of the art custom-designed Advantage Centre (see images below) was opened in July 2007, establishing a new age of training and education in innovative medical therapies.
The Advantage Centre advances clinical knowledge by conducting ongoing specialized training courses for various clinicians. The day incorporates a combination of theoretical learning, hands on workshops and a variety of opportunities to learn and network with peers and colleagues.

Advanced V.A.C.® Therapy Skills Training |
This course is designed for the delegates to share best practice and generate new approaches in the field of V.A.C. Therapy. We will endeavor to enable delegates to feel more confident and competent in their practice. The day looks at some of the science behind V.A.C. Therapy, indications and case reports along with a practical workshop on dressing types, devices, and dressing application tips and techniques. |
Managing the Diabetic Foot with V.A.C.® TherapyA Podiatry Perspective |
This course is designed to interact and share information with Podiatrists who use V.A.C. Therapy to manage wounds of the lower limb or are considering doing so and to enable delegates to feel more confident and competent. The day looks at some of the science behind V.A.C. Therapy, indications and case reports along with a practical workshop on dressing types, devices, and dressing application tips and techniques. |
Managing the Diabetic Foot with V.A.C.® TherapyA Nursing Perspective |
This course is an opportunity to interact and share information with nurses who use or are considering using V.A.C. Therapy to manage Diabetic Foot Ulcers and to enable them to feel more confident and competent in their practice. The training takes a look at the current situation with Diabetes in Australia, adjunct podiatry therapy, evidence for use of V.A.C. Therapy with Diabetic Foot Ulcers and case reports. This is accompanied with a practical workshop on dressing types, devices, and dressing application tips and techniques. |
Specialised V.A.C.® Therapy Skills Training

This day is designed as an opportunity to network with other experienced V.A.C. Therapy practitioners from around Australia to explore the management and dressing techniques. Looking at predominately fistulas and abdominal dressings including Abdominal Compartment Syndrome. Aiming to provide specialized training we will incorporate other challenging applications, as well as utilizing complex case reports tailored to the group. |
