V.A.C. Therapy Reimbursement
Our products are rented and sold principally to hospitals, community care facilities and directly to patients. Payment is received from various public and third party payors, including government-funded programs.
At present, the professional service components associated with V.A.C.® Therapy are covered under existing MBS items but the actual equipment costs (device rental and consumable sales) are not currently supported by any government funded reimbursement arrangement. Some Private Health Funds partially reimburse V.A.C.® Therapy on a case by case basis. V.A.C.® Therapy is reimbursed on the DVA Rehabilitation Appliances Program Schedule for eligible veterans.
Currently in Australia for Wound Care Surfaces Products, some Private Health Funds and third party payors give partial reimbursement on a case-by-case basis. The company is actively pursuing further reimbursement; this information will be updated as developments occur.
